DON’T WASH YOUR HANDS!

This isn’t a post about food, but about your favorite foodie. Me!!! Ok, I may not be your favorite foodie, but you are reading this, so hopefully at the very least, you like me?

Thank you so much for reading my posts, sharing them and watching my videos. I love you.

As most of you know, I have been writing my blog for a little over two years and have been releasing my silly videos since Decemeber of 2010. It is amazing and sort of frightening how quickly social media and blogging have evolved. I don’t think any of us can keep up. I have a YouTube Channel, Twitter page and two Facebook pages and God knows what else I will have in the coming months.

The point: What started as a hobby has turned into what gets me out of bed every morning. I love to write and I love to make silly videos about food and I am also the founder of a foodie site that is in arrested development. Besides having the dream of launching RealFoodies before I retire, I would like to “make it” on some level by being my crazy foodie self.

Here’s where you come in: People say that they love my videos and that I should “be on tv”, but it takes way more than 250 or even 2000 views on YouTube to get on anyone’s radar. There are people making videos about their pinky toe that have 95,000 hits. That is clear evidence that something is wrong with society, but there are a lot of foodies out there that would like my silly videos, but how are they going to know I exist unless we tell them?

The dirty hand reference and how you can help:

I would like my videos and blog to go VIRAL and the easiest way to spread a virus is to sit down and click with wild abandon. I know that not everyone is into YouTube and that you have to have an account to subscribe, so I am going to make it easy for you by giving you options.

YouTube:

1. Subscribe to my channel, watch all of my videos during lunch and share them with your friends on Facebook & Twitter. You can share one or all, anything helps. You can simply view, thumbs up and share if you don’t want to subscribe.

2. Subscribe to my blog. This way you will get an e-mail notice each time I post something new and I’m not just tooting my own horn, but there is some cool stuff coming down the pipeline! The subscribe area is just under my photo on the right side.

3. Know someone? If you know someone who knows someone in tv or cable or if you know Ellen, Kelly Ripa, The View or Oprah say this:

“Have you seen Claudia Ossa’s videos or read her blog? Do you know that she is going to be the next big thing and we don’t mean that she will be on the Biggest Loser, SF Edition, but that she is undiscovered territory and YOU should be the one to make her famous and take 10%”

4. Tweet: If you are into Twitter, follow me!

What I will do for you:

Anything! Well, many things. I am a good friend, decent cook, helpful mover and hit man. I don’t forget people who help me. If you need anything from me, including free design work and great advice, I am here. If you have any advice or feedback on what you like like to see more or less of etc., let me know. I am putting together my “pitch” for Kickstarter right now!

I’m gonna give this a shot. Here’s hoping it’s a great success! (And that you don’t catch anything in the process, lol).

Your videos are great–I’ll include a link in our next Newsletter from Colbrook Kitchen! Good luck with Kickstarter, we saw a video on how they launched the Nano watch when we were at the Art Institute in Chicago last week.

I love your videos and I’m happy to support you.

Kickstarter can be a bit skewed to very specific non-profit ventures. I tried them about 7 months ago– learned a lot, but it wasn’t the right fit. Keep working your networks. Im happy to talk to you about the avenues I took that actually worked for me to get “Dr Carol” out there.

Following you on twitter. Good luck!
