8 MYTHS ABOUT BOOZE … debunked by an expert!

Home of Hangar One Vodka and many other tasty spirits.  One of the most fun and relatively cheap day trips you can take in the Bay Area is to St. George Sprits, home of the famous Hangar One vodka. My husband and I took the Ferry over to Alameda and we walked a kinda long and somewhat desolate path to a big old ex-military hangar that houses one of the best distilleries in the US. I would say, the world, but I don't know much about distilleries around the world. Click here to get the low down on [...]

SQUASH MY INSPIRATION!

Ok, perhaps a bit of a cheesy title, but how else am I going to get you to read your veggies? I didn't grow up with squash, well, other than overcooked zuchini. I vaguely remember eating spaghetti squash about 10 years ago, but it wasn't until the last 5 years that I discovered how incredibly wonderful different varieties of squash really are. What is fabulous about this recipe is that you don't need much on hand to pull it off and you can use it with pasta, on top of a protein like fish or chicken [...]

TZATZIKI, RAITA and some dancing.

I love Tzatziki. I have loved it every since I was a little gal when I would eat it Gyro places at malls (pronounced yee-row). I even used to make it when I actually worked at the Gyro place at the mall in Alamogordo, New Mexico*. We always called it the Greek yogurt sauce or simply "the yogurt sauce". Strangely enough, even though I made it in bulk at Gyros at the mall, which we called the "hall" cus it was so small, I never tasted home made Tzatziki until I met my great friend Shannon. She makes a mean [...]
